# Beta Installation/Update

We encourage you to test the beta version of Lagom WHMCS Client Theme 2.3.0-b1 in your development environments and explore the new features available in this release. Your feedback is highly appreciated, so if you have any suggestions, requests, or questions about the current functionalities, please do not hesitate to reach out through our Ticket System.

Before you begin testing, please ensure that you have a complete backup of your development environment. This precaution will help you restore your setup if needed.

IMPORTANT: Beta version should ONLY be installed in a development environment. Installing this version in a production environment is at your own risk, and we do not provide technical support for such installations.

# Installation

This section will walk you through the steps necessary to install our Lagom WHMCS Client Theme 2.3.0-b1 on your server. We will guide you carefully through the whole installation process.

# Module Requirements

Below is a list of requirements for latest product version:

  1. Requires IonCube Loader 13.0.2 and later.
  2. Supports PHP 8.2.x.
  3. Requires mbstring PHP module.

# Before You Begin

  1. Make sure that the Lagom WHMCS Client Theme version, which you are trying to install, is compatible with your WHMCS installation! Check the compatibility list here.
  2. While we make every effort to test all our new releases, we strongly recommend giving our product a try on your WHMCS installation before activating it. You can preview the installed theme by clicking the "Live Preview" button as presented below.

# Download Files

  1. Log in to our RS Studio Client Portal.
  2. Navigate to My Services.
  3. Choose a product that you wish to install and click the "Manage" button.
  4. Download the latest version by pressing the "Download" button on the main product page. If you want to choose one of the previous releases, click "Show all files".

# Upload Files

Lagom files can NOT be uploaded using ROOT owner, as files and folders uploaded using root can not be overwritten by RS Themes addon. This will cause issues during activation of the Lagom Color Schemes.

  1. Extract the .zip folder that has been downloaded from the Client Portal.
  2. Upload content of /php71+/ folder to using FTP server, to the directory where your WHMCS system is installed. WHMCS system installation directory can be found in WHMCS admin area. Go to "Help" > "License Information" > "Valid Directory".
  3. Make sure that during upload process all files has been uploaded correctly without any errors.
  4. Once Lagom package has been correctly uploaded to your WHMCS Server, please check if files and folders located in /templates/lagom2/core/styles/ has write privileges.

# Activate Addon

  1. Log in to the WHMCS admin area on your server.
  2. In the top right corner, click on "System Settings" and then choose Addon Modules".
  1. Activate the "RS Themes" addon.
  1. Press the "Configure" button and select admin role groups (these groups may differ depending on the WHMCS installation) to grant access according to your needs, then save changes.

# Activate Client Area Theme

The beta version of Lagom WHMCS Client Theme 2.3.0-b1 includes a streamlined, interactive installer. Once you enter the RS Themes addon, you will see a user-friendly wizard that will guide you step by step through installation. The installer monitors each step to prevent any technical issues, making sure the update runs smoothly and efficiently.

  1. To activate the Client Area Theme, navigate to Addons -> RS Themes.
  1. The installer window will appear. Click the "Start Installation" button, follow the on-screen instructions, and wait for the installation to complete.

    The installation will go through the following processes:

    • Starting Installation
    • Checking Module Requirements
    • Installing Theme Core
    • Installing Addon Core
    • Building Color Styles
    • Creating Default Pages
    • Building Product Pricing Cache
    • Polishing
    • Finalizing Installation
  1. During the installation process, various errors or warnings may appear. Below is a sample message, and a full list of them can be found in "Common Problems" section.
  1. After the installation is complete, you will be notified of the outcome and automatically redirected to the template selection screen.
  1. Click the "Manage" button located next to the previously installed product.
  1. Enter a product license key and press the "Save" button. Your product license key can be found in RS Studio Client Portal.
  1. Click the "Activate Theme" button to activate the Lagom WHMCS Client Theme for the "client area" and the "ordering process". If you would like to preview the theme firstly without activating it, please check this step.

# Clear Cache

  1. Clear your browser and server cache (for example Cloudflare).
  2. Clear the WHMCS template cache in: Utilities -> System -> System Cleanup -> "Empty Template Cache".

# Configure Theme

Once the installation process has been completed, you can proceed to the configuration of your theme.

  1. Upload your company logo.
  2. Select the Lagom Style and configure its colors.
  3. Choose the Lagom Layout for the main navigation and footer layout.
  4. Set up navigation menu items.
  5. Configure pages settings.
  6. Edit general settings.
  7. Define the "Modern" homepage content.

# Update

In this section, you will find out how to successfully update Lagom WHMCS Client Theme 2.3.0-b1. We will guide you step by step through the whole update process.

# Product Requirements

  1. INFO - If you want to retain the Style Manager's settings like colors and variables values, do not delete Lagom WHMCS Client Theme files before the upload process. Instead, just upload new version's package files and overwrite the existing ones.

  1. If you have ordered the Basic or Advanced integration from the RS Studio team, then please make sure that these packages have been updated. What is important, we need 16-32 business days to update customized packages for all our customers. The version of the customized package needs to be the same as the latest theme release, otherwise, your custom package has not been updated yet.

# Visit RS Themes Addon

Updating Lagom WHMCS Client Theme 2.3.0-b1 is now simpler than ever with our enhanced, intuitive updater. Once you access the RS Themes addon, an automatic update wizard will guide you through the process. The updater monitors each step to prevent any technical issues, making sure the update runs smoothly and efficiently.

  1. After you have uploaded the necessary files for the update, navigate to WHMCS Admin Area -> Addons -> RS Themes. Here, locate the theme you are updating and click the Manage button.

# Extensions Compatibility

IMPORTANT: Please note that our extensions are not compatible with the beta version of Lagom WHMCS Client Theme 2.3.0-b1, except for the Lagom WHMCS Website Builder 1.1.0-b1, which is currently the only compatible extension. Full compatibility with other extensions will be introduced in the official 2.3.0 release.

# Clear Cache

# Common Problems

  • Error reporting an incompatible version of PHP. Please refer to our Product Requirements article to find out which version of PHP is required to install/update our Lagom WHMCS Client Theme.
  1. Warning: IonCube Loader version x.x.x or higher is required. Your current version is x.x.x. Please update to proceed.
  • Error reporting an incompatible version of IonCube Loader. Please refer to our Product Requirements article to find out which version of IonCube Loader is required to install/update our Lagom WHMCS Client Theme.
  1. Warning: PHP Module "module_name" is missing. This module is required for proper functioning.
  • Error reporting that some specific PHP library is missing. Please install the missing dependencies to ensure our product will operate correctly.
